More information about Château la Rose Picot
Château La Rose Picot is located in Saint Germain d'Esteuil, 25 km west of Saint Estèphe. The vineyards extend over 40ha and are worked by the Goirand winemaking couple. This classic cuvée produces an intense ruby red wine with dark berry aromas and spices. The wine is very harmonious with present but soft tannins, it appears elegant and fresh and shows a long fine finish.
The Médoc region is located northwest of the city of Bordeaux. Here the river Gironde flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The vines find here sufficient sun. However, the maritime climate moderates this influence. As in the rest of the Bordeaux region, most wines in the Médoc are made from a blend of different grape varieties. Here, the red grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are particularly common, blended with small amounts of Cabernet Franc, Malbec or Petit Verdot.
Grape varieties by proportions: Merlot 56%, Cabernet Sauvignon 39%, Cabernet Franc 3%, Petit Verdot 2%.
