More information about Coviñas Veterum Vitium
This wine comes exclusively from the oldest Bobal vines in the Utiel-Requena wine region. This old grape variety has a long tradition in the region. The vines are on average 80 years old and have developed very deep roots to reach the nutrients in the subsoil. This allows them to absorb a particularly large amount of minerals. Due to the great age of the vines, they form only very small berries, in which the full aroma is concentrated. After selective hand harvesting and traditional gentle processing in the cellar, the wine is aged in French and American oak barrels for 3 - 6 months.
The result is a full-bodied, complex wine that smells of ripe raspberries, wild berries and figs. On the palate, its aromas of red fruits, vanilla and cocoa with a hint of minerality are fascinating. It is extremely harmonious with soft tannins and a long finish on the palate. A great red from one of Spain's most interesting wine regions.
Brunello di Montalcino shimmers ruby red with garnet highlights in the glass. On the nose, it reveals a lush bouquet of ripe cherries and wild berries. On the palate, one also finds intense cherry and raspberry notes accompanied by intriguing aromas of truffles, dried herbs and forest floor. It is very expressive, with a lot of structure and powerful body, but at the same time elegant and sensual. A textbook Brunello!
