Fairview Bloemcool Ploegperd 2021 - White wine

Fairview Bloemcool Ploegperd is an unusual white wine blend of Chenin Blanc (69%), Palomino (16%) and Grenache Blanc (15%), some of whose grapes come from old vines. A bright straw yellow that fades to a light green at the rim, the white wine sparkles in the glass. The scent of wild buchu, yellow fruits and mineral tones rises to the nose. On the palate, notes of green apples provide a fruity component, while crisp acidity gives Fairview Bloemcool Ploegperd a great mouthfeel. "Ploegperd," by the way, means "plow horse" in Afrikaans, so the wine's name is reminiscent of earlier times when horses were used to work in the vineyards.
