It seems as if his life's mission is to spread the word about beer around the world. For years, the Austrian by choice has put his heart and soul into promoting the appreciation of beer and has already launched numerous beer-related projects. He also brews beer on the side. Wild in the forest

Axel Kiesbye has always been a nature boy. As a child, he was already fascinated by untouched forests and the wild; nature is his favorite retreat and never-ending source of inspiration. On one of his forays through wild terrain, the brewer came up with the brilliant idea for a new beer creation: forest beers. Kiesbye wants to brew the aromatic diversity of the forest into his beer, to bring the forest into the glass. To do this, he throws a wide variety of tree components such as branches, blossoms, leaves, cones and fruits into the kettle and composes an aroma masterpiece that transports you directly into the forest. Ingeniously, Kiesbye manages to pack entire landscapes of flavor into his beer. One sip of Waldbier and you're standing in a sun-drenched clearing in a dense forest, ferns overgrow the forest floor, birds chirp in the treetops and there's a wonderful smell of dewy grass and earth. Under the motto "Kiesbye Mission," brewer Axel Kiesbye has taken it upon himself to establish beer as a holistic experience. Beer is to be redeemed from its existence as an underestimated after-work drink and elevated to the ranks of culinary delights. For Kiesbye, beer is a multi-layered, subtly composed beverage that must be perceived, experienced and enjoyed. As the founding father of training to become a beer sommelier and an ambassador for barley juice, Axel Kiesbye has developed an academy for beer culture where those interested can learn all about beer.
