More information about Nemea red on black
The wine has a deep ruby color. The aroma is dominated by intense fruit aromas, especially red berries and cherry. In the mouth develop spicy notes, some cocoa and cherry jam. It is very round and velvety, well structured with a fruity finish. The grapes grow at 800m altitude to benefit from the coolness, they are handpicked in small stairs and temperature controlled fermentation in steel tanks, very little use of wood to preserve the beautiful fruit.
Nemea in Peloponnese near the city of Corinth is one of the most up-and-coming regions in the country. Here the Agiorgitiko grape is cultivated on deep red marl soils and with low yields, especially at higher altitude vineyards (700 - 800 m) produce quite amazing reds with intensity and fruit.

Estate Mitravelas
Mitravelas is the oldest winery in the town of Nemea, which also gives its name to the important wine region of the Peleponnese. Mitravelas is dedicated to the cultivation of the native Agiorgitiko grape. The vines are located on the hills around Nemea and are mostly older than 55 years. They produce only small berries, but with a very intense flavor. The winery celebrated a great success in 2015 at the "Decanter World Wine Awards" in Great Britain. The wine Nemea red on black received, in addition to a gold medal, the award for best Greek red wine under £ 15!
