More information about Snowy owl Flora Speziaal
Under the broad wings of the snowy owl, the finest beers are created in Germany's capital. Ulrike Genz, a passionate brewer and master of elegant wheat beers, is in charge. Her heartfelt project is the renaissance of Berliner Weisse - not the syrup-tainted kind, but the original Berliner Weisse, which manages without any syrup but is still wonderfully fruity and full of flavor.
In addition to very classic interpretations, Ulrike shows the courage to innovate and likes to throw the odd unconventional ingredient into the kettle.
She demonstrates a good knack for flavor pairings with Flora, for example. The fine Flower Sour is relaunched every year and refined with flowers and other fragrant ingredients.
The 2020 version is called Flora Speziaal and is brewed with a particularly exquisite addition: hand-picked rose petals give the beer its floral aroma.
But Flora has plenty more surprises up its sleeve: In addition to the delicate buds of the rose, ginger and the peel of oranges, lemons and pomegranates are also used. A portion of lactic acid bacteria binds the fruity potpourri together and also gives the beer a wonderfully creamy, velvety-soft quality.
This fine drop combines the earthy spiciness of ginger with light-footed acidity, tangy fruit, summery floral notes and a hint of vanilla. Absolutely drinkable and wonderful for sharing!
