For those who have only known elderberry in the form of syrup, juice or jelly, we strongly recommend Schneeeule's elderflower whiteness. The fine whiteness was cold fermented with the addition of countless elderflowers. This had two effects: Not only do the white blossoms lend the beer its fine flavor with their fruity florality, but the wild yeasts attached to the blossoms also contribute aroma.
This culmination of Holundriger excellence tastes like early summer, with all its colors: After the first jump into the still cool lake, after balmy evenings illuminated by fireflies, after summer flower meadows and barbecues with friends.
Translated into figurative language, this means the following: Otto, which presents itself in cloudy gold in the glass, smells unmistakably of elderflowers, which mingle in the nose with the subtle notes of fresh fruit, mild malt and delicate citrus. The forward finish confirms the olfactory first impression and treats the tongue to clean elderflower, spicy yeast, a hint of white pepper and fruity notes of green apple, gooseberry and tangy lime.
Incidentally, the namesake of this fine beer specialty is Otto von Lilienthal. However, because lilies are nowhere near as delicate in flavor as elderflowers and are also poisonous, the exquisite beauties were replaced by the classic from the elderberry bush. An extremely good decision!

Snowy Owl
Berliner Weisse is Ulrike Genz's favorite beer and the reason she started brewing in the first place. As a Berliner, it was and still is her desire to give good, traditional beer back to her hometown. With a lot of heart and craft, she has built up the Schneeeule label and brews wonderfully refreshing beer in a one-woman process and fine creations like Schampus Weiß Vintage, which was created in cooperation with Bayerischer Bahnhof and Freigeist Bierkultur. Snowy Owl Ulrike came up with these unusual names while taking a closer look at the Berliner Weisse: Crowned by white foam, the beer shines in bright light yellow.
