More information about Schoppe Bräu Holy Shit Endboss Ale
If you thought that Holy Shit Ale (a Double IPA) from the house of Schoppe is already the crowning glory, then you absolutely must try the Endboss! To surpass one's own fantastic beer is an art that not many have mastered. Thorsten Schoppe, however, is one who can pull off such stunts with ease.
Holy Shit Ale is a hop-intensive Double IPA with 10.0% alcohol content. Holy Shit Endboss is its champion, making it seem like a linnet in comparison. Endboss is a punchy Triple IPA with a whopping 12.0% alcohol content, and it's not for beginners when it comes to flavor either. From a purely visual standpoint, the beast first comes across as quite relaxed: a strong amber hue with a beautiful copper sheen and a small, airy head.
The aroma already hints at the power of the final boss. A complex framework of diverse aromas builds up in the nose: Malt, caramel and roasted aromas meet spicy hops and a whole lot of fruit. The finish presents the mighty stature of the final boss: a powerful body that has sweetness and bitterness up its sleeve in raw quantities. At first, a velvety aroma of melt-in-the-mouth caramel coats the palate, with the taste of dried plums and a hint of roasted grain joining in. Then the hops follow, spreading a fan of tropical fruits. Mango, passion fruit and papaya meet pink grapefruit and spicy pine resin. A crisp bitterness skillfully rounds off the aroma spectacle.
