Vipera Honeywine & Spirits

Mead that claims to preserve the flavor and texture of honey and to incorporate nuances of fruit and spices into the flavor profile in the gentlest possible way. Spirits that take advantage of these same characteristics of honey wine when they finally draw the flavors back from the wood of the barrels in which the liquid gold was stored.

In 2017, this idea finally took deeper shape - backed by a tradition and expertise that goes back 70 years, a soft spot for sweet wine and after various batches for private use, we decided to turn our passion into a profession.

Since then, the subject of mead has followed us at every turn, and our ambition was aroused. True to the motto: "Give things the time they need", lengthy experiments with woods, barrel sizes and honey qualities began. The individual components were to mesh with each other and tell a story in their interplay. Once the mead has left the barrel, its story is preserved in the alcohol. Each fresh barrel is subsequently filled with spirits selected by us, which ultimately mature through our storytelling and bring out their full potential.

No batch is the same as the previous one, no barrel the same. Each bottle is unique, made with love for pleasure and raw materials. We hope you enjoy discovering - Henrik Elsner, Luca and Leon Lauer.
