Schlitzer Destillerie

The history of the Schlitzer Distillery dates back to the founding year 1585, when Count Eustach von Schlitz laid the foundation stone for the Schlitzer Distillery. For centuries, grain brandy was produced in Schlitz from regional wheat. In 1969, the distillery was acquired by the state of Hesse until it was finally founded as a limited liability company by the municipalities of Schlitz and Hünfeld in 2006.

The product range includes a variety of grain and fruit brandies, gin as well as fruit and herbal liqueurs, which are marketed under the brands "Schlitzer Destillerie", "Burgen Drinks" and "Aha Excelsior". For numerous products, the company draws on centuries-old and proven recipes. Only selected fruits and herbs are used, which are created by master craftsmen with a wealth of experience and passion into spirits of the highest quality and purity. Then as now, the distillery's motto is "to distill the best from the raw materials".
