Taunus-Gin GmbH - Ursel Gin

Our Ursel is a regional and certified organic product from the heart of the Taunus, a landscape located in the middle of Germany, which the naturalist Alexander von Humboldt once called the most beautiful low mountain range in the world. There is nothing more to add to this, he must have known it, after all, he traveled half the world.

Our premium gin owes its unusual name to its origin in the idyllic Hochtaunus town of Oberursel, where it is distilled in our small factory from selected botanicals in careful manual work according to a strictly secret recipe. In addition to the characteristic aroma of our lead botanical - the hand-picked spruce shoots - it is essentially rosemary, nettle and elderberry that give it its unadulterated forest note and so the straightforward and expressive taste experience reflects precisely this wild and pristine nature of the Taunus.

Since 2016, our classic with the significant name Heritage is produced, bottled and sold by us.

Even though the recipe of Heritage is still the same, a lot has happened in the Ursel family. Three siblings expand the versatile range of our regular products, as varied as the four seasons - Spring Break, Heritage, Dark Forest and Golden Oak.
