Jamaica Rum, aged in barrels for 12 years by various distilleries in Jamaica, becomes the unique MAUND RUM through "Blend and Finishing" in the "wild Alps".
For rum aficionados, MAUND RUM features the rich aromatics typical of Jamaica Rum, but surprises with elegance and smooth finish for a rum at 45% vol.

NICE ONE! Dried fruit, vanilla and caramel on the nose. Subtle hints of Jamaica. Complex. Full flavor, strong spice, very pleasing. Little sweetness, quite natural. Long, everlasting finish.

"The soloist from Jamaica re-aged in Switzerland" Chocolate and caramel cream, reminiscent of a "Mars" bar, immediately make the spirit category clear here. With banana, nut, nutmeg and dried mango, this is "a perfect sipping rum" for the ÖGZ tasters.... just narrowly missing the victory!

Typical nose, raisins, slightly woody, distinct roasted aromas, a hint of caramel. On the palate balanced aromatics, very spicy, slightly peppery notes, some tobacco, roasted coffee, dried fruit, long finish.
About the brand "MAUND"®:
John Oakley Maund was an English banker and alpinist who gained notoriety for several first ascents in the Mont Blanc massif in the 19th century. Sir J.O. Maund had stately hunting villas built for him by Willam Morris, on Lake Lucerne and in the Arlberg region, on a spur of the Ünschenberg Alpe in the Bregenzerwald.
The "Villa Maund" in the Bregenzerwald was leased for many years as a hunting lodge for Crown Prince Wilhelm of Prussia. From 1995 to 2007 Paul Renner, artist, actionist inhabited the property. Among the countless illustrious guests were Zaha Hadid, Ferran Adrià, Günter Brus and the many prominent members of the "infamous" Hell Fire Touring Club.
