Double Cask Matured

Vintage 2013
Bottled November 2018

We have been distilling whiskey from carefully lightly smoked barley since 2012. The distillate is stored partly in an ex-sherry cask and partly in an ex-bourbon cask. After at least 5 years of storage, the distillates are blended again.

LIMITED EDITION: This rarity is limited to 390 bottles of 0.7L and 9 bottles of double magnum (3.0L).

"SWISS WHISKY AWARD 2019" Tasting Notes:

Not too heavy, strong roasted aromas, fruit and grain, fresh and young. On the palate fine fruit, fruit, slightly smoky, fresh wood, chocolaty nose. Overall, a very accessible whiskey that knows how to suggest different aromatic facets in an interesting way.

About the brand "MAUND"®:

John Oakley Maund was an English banker and alpinist who gained notoriety for several first ascents in the Mont Blanc massif in the 19th century. Sir J.O. Maund had stately hunting villas built for him by Willam Morris, on Lake Lucerne and in the Arlberg region, on a spur of the Ünschenberg Alpe in the Bregenzerwald.

The "Villa Maund" in the Bregenzerwald was leased for many years as a hunting lodge for Crown Prince Wilhelm of Prussia. From 1995 to 2007 Paul Renner, artist, actionist inhabited the property. Among the countless illustrious guests were Zaha Hadid, Ferran Adrià, Günter Brus and the many prominent members of the "infamous" Hell Fire Touring Club.

A unique place of many myths and rumors and the origin of the creations of THE WILD ALPS - ALCHEMY ADVENTURE.
