More information about Hösl Whiskey-Weisse
The whiskey wheat beer from Hösl in Mitterteich is proof of a very special friendship The town of Mitterteich has maintained a partnership with the English town of Cheddleton Wetley-Rocks in Staffordshire for 20 years now At a meeting to plan the anniversary, the idea was born to brew a beer to celebrate this friendship Master brewer Michael Hösl liked his idea and took the opportunity to combine two of his passions: Beer and whiskey To transport the fine taste of his favorite spirit into the beer, the creative brewer used special whiskey malt This type of malt conjures up a peaty note with a strong character in the beer and its smoky aroma is reminiscent of luxurious whiskey
The whiskey wheat beer flows into the glass in a dark golden hue and is slightly cloudy A delicately tinted foam crowns the beer and already reveals the intention of this beer Spicy peat, vanilla and fine smoke are reminiscent of the full-bodied aroma of a good whiskey The characteristic wheat beer aromas complement the whiskey aroma perfectly: Yeast, clove and creamy banana elegantly complement the interplay of aromas The first sip reveals a medium body with lively carbonation The taste of the whiskey/beer combination impresses with the best of both worlds: Dark roasted wheat meets creamy caramel, ripe banana, tart herbs and earthy peat A fine malt note permeates the interplay of aromas, but is more subtle and elegant than in a classic smoked beer
The whiskey wheat beer is a subtly composed beer that lives up to its name
