More information about Nitro Ice Cherry Barley Wine
Beer style: Barrel-aged Barley Wine with cherry
Patience is a virtue that is essential in brewing Good beer needs a certain amount of time to develop its aroma and full potential The brewing process itself usually takes no longer than a day, but fermentation and maturation also take the following weeks Most beers need around four to six weeks after the brewing day to be ready for consumption If you want to deepen the character and make the aroma more complex and mature, you need to be patient for quite a while longer: Barrel-aged specialty beers usually mature for months rather than weeks
This is also the case with Nitro Ice Cherry, a Barley Wine from Maryensztadt matured in Rioja barrels The noble drop is part of the Barrel Aged Project and, like most of its colleagues, packs quite a punch The full 16,1 % alcohol content gives the beer a boost and warms the body and soul even in sub-zero temperatures Cherry juice provides a ruby red shimmer in the opaque mahogany body and a plus of juicy fruit The extra ingredient harmonizes wonderfully with the soft malt fullness, the woody and spicy notes of the barrel and the fire of the Spanish red wine The beer owes its particularly velvety, creamy and tingling mouthfeel to the addition of nitrogen instead of carbon dioxide
