Glühgin
Glühgin is now a firm favorite among winter hot drinks. But did you know that mulled gin has been around for much longer?
Glühgin - a drink with a long tradition
The history of mulled gin dates back to the 18th century. Gin found its way into numerous drinks during this period, and mulled gin is no exception. The resurgence of enthusiasm for gin in recent years has also breathed new life into mulled gin, with modern mixologists creating exciting variations using artisan gin and creative botanical infusions.
In its earliest form, mulled gin was a comforting drink enjoyed by the British during the cold winter months and often used as a remedy for various ailments.
Charles Dickens, the famous English writer, even subtly mentions mulled gin in "The Pickwick Papers" from 1836, where he writes of drinking "hot gin-and-water at the Chemist's" as a remedy for the harsh London weather.

Mulled gin today
In the beginning, mulled gin was actually a mixture of gin, hot water and a little sugar, but today it is mainly creations with fruit juices that are more similar to mulled wine in terms of recipe.
Whether you want to give traditional mulled gin a chance or prefer fruity notes - you are flexible with our mulled gin recipe!
