More information about The Free Pilsner
The contemporary Pilsener is generally a hoppy beer with a fine tartness and a pronounced bitterness It is lean, fresh and has a mild alcohol content Germans appreciate the elegant restraint of this classic beer and drink it so consistently, that year after year it is on the winner's podium in the competition for the country's most popular beer styles Northern Germany in particular is a favorite and many of the most successful beers in the category come from there However, the style originally comes from the Czech city of Pilsen, where it is brewed with slightly more malt
Brewery Das Freie from Sehnde near Hanover in northern Germany combines the intense hopping of the north with a little extra malt from Bohemia to create an extremely drinkable brew that should appeal to Pilsen fans from all over the world
Its interpretation presents itself in a not entirely classic guise: the beer flows into the glass in a delicately cloudy old gold color and adorns itself with a stately crown of snow-white foam A beautiful hop flower rises to the nose and the first sip is also hoppy The grassy notes, the exquisite tartness and the fresh bitterness, however, quickly combine with an unconventional cereal note in the course of the drinking pleasure
"North German tartness with Bohemian butteriness" - this is how the brewers describe their masterpiece
