There are two lagers in AND UNION's series of outstanding beers named after the days of the week: Thursday and Saturday. Both are characterized by their excellent taste, the difference lies in their complexity. While Saturday is a relaxed, fluffy lager, Thursday impresses with its depth, strong roasted character and its wonderfully dark color.
Thursday is a dark lager and therefore has an opaque mahogany hue. When exposed to light, the body shimmers ruby red, a fine veil of lightly tinted foam sits enthroned on the beer. A tantalizing aroma of roasted malt, caramelized nuts, dark wild berries and candied orange peel rises to the nose and makes your mouth water. The first sip reveals a surprisingly light-footed body that you would not expect either visually or olfactorily. Before the hops come into play, however, it's the malt's turn: fine notes of strongly roasted malt caress the palate and pamper the taste buds with the aromas of oven-fresh bread crust, roasted hazelnuts and freshly picked wild berries. Then the hops come into play and serve up a finish that is light and playful. Fresh, juicy and palatable citrus notes mingle with a crisp hop bitterness and a hint of chocolate to create a finish that makes you want to drink the next bottle straight away.
