More information about Pilsner
Even if the pilsner seems a little monotonous in the face of fancy and hop-stuffed craft beers, we still appreciate the classic beer style for its fine tart freshness A well-made pilsner refreshes and delights with a successful balance of clean, clear bitterness, soft malt and well-placed hops
Ulrich Martin brews an extremely successful example of this category The master brewer from Schonungen produces a range of the finest Franconian brews at the Martin private brewery and naturally also has a pilsner on offer His version has a pleasant 4.9% alcohol content and is brewed with aroma hops from Franconia's hop gardens and summer barley from friendly farmers in the region
The eternal classic flows into the glass in a crystal-clear gold and is adorned with a handsome head of pure white foam A wonderful hop flower rises from the beautiful beer, bringing freshly mown grass, hay and floral notes to the nose A hint of bread skilfully rounds off the first impression and whets the appetite for the first sip This reveals a slender body with strong hops, Grass and herbs, earthy notes, toasted bread and delicate citrus tones caress the taste buds The bitterness is present from the first sip and builds into a dominant note right through to the dry finish
