More information about Black Pig
Why this Black Pig Costa Alentejana Gin tastes so good:
Black Pig - Costa Alentejana (Alentejo Coast) Gin is a sensory experience that reflects an immeasurable blue sea, golden sandy beaches, monumental cliffs and breathtaking views of an Alentejo coast full of colors and flavors. This incredible coastline has the climate that provides the ideal conditions for the growth of the botanicals of the gin. This is what this gin is inspired by. For this, the team works daily to ensure consistent quality and the environment in which this excellent Costa Alentejana Gin can succeed.
The taste of Costa Alentejana Gin
The wild fragments of juniper bushes of the dunes and the delicate floral cut of rosemary are the essence of this gin. Moreover, the taste of the lemony aromas from the fresh Alentejo lemons will enchant you. All botanicals are handpicked and sourced regionally. Some of the botanicals also grow on our farm in the Alentejo.
This is what Black Pig stands for
We are dedicated to preserving the ecosystem for our black pigs, the "Pata Negra", the flagship of the Alentejo. That is why we live and work with respect and in harmony with the region. From this perfect symbiosis of nature, the play with the flavors and the production processes, an ecological cycle is created from the harvest to the bottle for the gin. It is more than a gin. It is the magic that makes you close your eyes to dream of the dunes and the sea of the Alentejo coast.
Mistelhain's Ambition tonic water goes particularly well with this Black Pig Costa Alentejana Gin. Its sparkling freshness with the lemony aroma harmonizes perfectly.

Black Pig Alentejo Distillery
Cork, animals, plants, beaches and fields - these are the origins of Black Pig Distillery, to which we still refer. In 2007, we planted the first Medronheiros orchard on the Costa Alentejana, also known as Western Strawberry Trees, to distill Aguardente de Medronho, typical of Portugal. In 2018, we added our gin. We are committed to preserving the ecosystem for our black pigs, the "Pata Negra", the flagship of the Alentejo. That is why we live and work with respect and in harmony with the region. This perfect symbiosis of nature, the play of flavors and production processes, creates an ecological cycle from harvest to bottle for the gin. It is more than a gin. It is the magic that makes you close your eyes to dream of the dunes and the sea of the Alentejo coast.
