More information about Lowlander White Ale
Lowlander Brewery's White Ale is inspired by a national hero of the Netherlands: Willem Barentsz The 16th century navigator became famous as the discoverer of Spitsbergen and gave his name to numerous Arctic regions He was also the first European explorer to spend an entire winter in Antarctica A true hero and a wonderful inspiration for a beer as extraordinary as himself
The guys at Lowlander are big fans of the adventurer Barentsz and honor him with a fabulous White Ale Barentsz and his crew were stranded in the Arctic on one of their adventures and only survived because they built a wooden hut from the remains of their ship There they found refuge from the freezing cold and the hungry polar bears that hunted them, They also had the opportunity to defrost the frozen beer from the ship True beer lovers still drink their beer even if they have to defrost it over a fire beforehand We doubt whether it tastes as delicious as Lowlander's white ale, but we admire the spirit of these beer lovers!
Lowlander's White Ale is brewed with three aromatic extra ingredients: Curaçao orange, elderflower and chamomile The Curaçao orange is a delicately bitter, undrinkable sister of the conventional orange, but it delights with an incomparably mild, soft citrus aroma The elderflower, which unlike the orange can also be found in our latitudes, adds a fruity, floral touch to the beer Elderflowers have an incredibly intense aroma and give the white ale a tangy summer freshness Chamomile provides a herbal undertone, which not only tastes spicy like herbs, but also very subtly and elegantly like apples
The White Ale from Lowlander is an impressive blend of elegant flavors and a beer of an extraordinary kind
