Rarámuri Churique Blanco Rawi Agave Brandy: "Never say 'mezcal' to him".
The basis for this agave spirit from the Mexican state of Chihuahua is the agave Lechuguilla. It grows only in the Chihuahua Desert and is called "Lechuguilla" (small lettuce) by the locals. After maturing for five to seven years, the agave heart is distilled using artisanal methods. As harsh as the desert environment is, the Churique Blanco Rawi tastes intense: wonderfully herbal, with a slightly acidic finish. Rarámuri founder Valeria Bayor Bussey proves with this distillate: her house not only produces first-class sotol, but with this agave spirit puts itself on a par with the best mezcales from Mexico.
