More information about Tilman's beers Hot Damn Lager
The so-called California Common is a beer style similar to steam beer The specialty is fermented at an average temperature of 20°C, but instead of the ale yeast usually used for this temperature, a lager yeast is used This is normally fermented at lower temperatures of seven to thirteen degrees The unconventional combination of yeast and fermentation temperature gives the beer a juicy fruitiness and a clean, clear mouthfeel
This technique was masterfully implemented in a collaboration between Tilmans Biere and Braukollektiv Freiburg The experts in craft beer have pooled their knowledge to create Hot Damn Lager The classic California Common combines the typical IPA hop varieties Idaho 7 and Comet with the recipe of a pale ale and the yeast of a lager The result is a beer full of character with a stable body, a palatable 5.4% alcohol content and fizzy carbonation
The Hot Damn Lager has the color of fine acacia honey and is crowned with a stately peak of airy, flowery white foam The scent of ripe, juicy pears rises and combines with freshly mown grass, light malt and yeast to form an enticing bouquet The first sip reveals a medium body with dry bitterness, mild sweetness and an aroma composed of fruity notes, cereals, yeast spices and citrus notes
