More information about 2Can
The toucan is a colourful bird species that can be recognized by its distinctive, slightly curved beak The birds, which can grow up to 65 centimetres long, are mainly found in the tropics, where they feed on fruit, insects and lizards A stylized form of the giant toucan adorns the logo of the Novo Brazil brewery from Chula Vista, California The brewery's home is also home to several magnificent toucan species
As a tribute to the beautiful birds, the brewery has not only come up with a fitting logo, but also created a beer: 2Can is a hopped India Pale Ale with a play on words in the title 2Can not only means "two cans" in translation, but is also pronounced exactly like the English name of the toucan The IPA is as strong and tasty as two conventional beers and features the toucan on its label
The brew is based on the classic West Coast IPA and owes its strong taste to the dry hopping with the Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial, Cascade and Citra varieties The aromatic quintet conjures up juicy notes of grapefruit and other citrus fruits, floral hints and spicy pine resin in the beer The 7.0% alcohol content is cleverly integrated into the taste, as are the relatively gentle 45 bitter units
