More information about Momo Haze
The namesake of this beer is an illustrious figure of the Latin American carnival: King Momo, also known as Rey Momo or King Momos, traditionally opens the festivities Each year, a different person is chosen as king of the carnival, usually the seasonal monarchs are of strong, tall stature and receive the key to the city for their leading role during the fifth season This tradition is based on the Greek god Momos, who was responsible for satire and jokes on Mount Olympus
Because the founding family of the Novo Brazil brewery left their Brazilian homeland to start anew in California, the traditions and customs of their homeland are particularly close to their hearts In honour of the King of Carnival, they came up with Momo Haze: a Hazy India Pale Ale that celebrates the key figure of the carnival season with floral notes, juicy fruit and exuberant citrus aromas
Momo Haze flows into the glass in a densely cloudy sunshine gold and crowns itself with a fleeting cap of white foam A bouquet of oven-fresh cookies, grass clippings and tropical fruit tickles the olfactory nerves and whets the appetite for the first sip The taste profile is made up of very similar elements and presents us with the best of the Saaz, Motueka and Mosaic hop varieties: floral, fruity, grassy, citrus-fresh and pleasantly bitter
