More information about Hofstettner Granitbock ice cream Christmas edition
A special highlight from the Hofstetten brewery is its Granitbock This special beer is fermented in traditional granite vats Before it is sent to the lager cellar to mature, granite blocks are placed in the beer and made to glow over a fire The hot stones caramelize the malt sugar and conjure up a wonderfully creamy toffee note in the beer After a full six months in the cellar, the Bock is ready To crown this creation with culinary delights, it is then frozen, In this process, the water content in the beer is reduced and the brew becomes stronger in every respect The concentrated end product is called Granitbock Eis and is one of Hofstetten's most popular products
Because every year there is a little Christmas surprise for the brewery's loyal customers, this year the team has come up with a wintery version of their Granitbock Eis: a good pinch of gingerbread spice enhances the malty beer and makes it a spicy specialty for cosy Advent evenings in front of the fireplace
The chestnut-brewed beer with a ruby-red shimmer and dense, ivory-colored head combines delicately melting caramel with powerful roasted aromas and the unmistakable taste of traditional gingerbread The impressive 11.5% alcohol content contributes a pleasant warmth that spreads through body and soul after just a few sips
