More information about BRLO Scotch Ale
St. Kilian is not a new parish church in Hintertupfing, but a distillery from the village of Rüdenau. This whiskey distillery, which claims to be the largest in Germany, distils the finest spirits using original Scottish equipment and under the guidance of Irish whiskey legend David F. Hynes.
The St. Kilian team recently teamed up with the brewers from BRLO for an aromatic collaboration. Capital city brewers and distillers have combined their areas of expertise and transformed a powerful ale into a mighty Scotch ale by means of barrel ageing. After the brewing process, the finished beer matured for four months in barrels that previously contained Amarone and Bourbon whiskey. The maturation deepened the flavor and allowed the alcohol to go one better.
The result of this collaboration is a fine drop with a full 10.0% alcohol content. The mahogany-colored specialty crowns itself with a good amount of hazelnut-brown foam and fills the room with a sensual aroma of toasted rye bread, peat, campfire, whiskey and burnt sugar. The taste test reveals a complex body with a voluminous stature. Strong notes of smoked ham, spicy yeast, creamy honey, toffee and oven-fresh bread ensnare the palate. A hint of wood, vanilla and the unmistakable aroma of good whiskey complete the interplay of flavors and make BRLO's Scotch Ale a treat for the palate for special moments.

Brlo - Your Berlin Beer As a Berlin brewery and catering company, we stand for modern beer diversity and distinctive experiences. By the way, BRLO is the old Slavic name for Berlin and can only be pronounced without mistakes after a few beers. A Franconian, a Berliner and a Mecklenburger founded the Berlin beer brand BRLO in 2014. Two of them, Katharina Kurz and Christian Laase, already know each other from their studies. Diplom Braumeister Michael Lembke is the third in the group, who shared the dream and has been the mastermind of BRLO beers since the beginning. However, the BRLO team is only really complete in 2016, when Ben Pommer joins the founding team and has since been responsible for the culinary concept of the BRLO Gastronomien with his unmistakable passion. From the original two beer styles Helles and Pale Ale, many different beer styles have grown over the years: Starting...
