ChristGin

The ChristGin's journey began in October 2016 in Prescott, Arizona. There I sat together with my old man at the quaint, small and at least 100-year-old hotel bar of the even older Hotel Hassayampa-Inn.

To end the beautiful day in a fitting manner, we ordered a local gin and were served it neat, on the rocks. Initially a little surprised, but we were immediately convinced of the taste and the mild pleasure.

For me, it was clear at that moment that a gin created by myself, must fulfill exactly such characteristics. Coupled with the desire to develop something new, which must be easy to smell and taste out of existing gins, led after some research to sage as the leading flavor tone. This set the direction and the foundation for ChristGin.

With the Burkard Distillery, we were able to win an excellent distillery as a partner for our premium product. The distillery exists in 5th generation for over 135 years. Sven Burkard has now taken over the management.

Sven has been allowed to call himself master distiller and sommelier of fine spirits since the beginning of 2015. This is a real specialty. As of today, he is the only master distiller in all of Hesse. As a noble brand sommelier, he is a regular member of international juries for the evaluation of noble brandies, spirits and gin varieties. This knowledge, matured over a long period of time and passed down through generations, is decisive for the high quality of our ChristGin.
