The rum for the "Excellent&Rare" series comes from sunny Panama. It is distilled there by one of the oldest and best-known family distilleries in the country. The high-quality sugar cane for this comes from its own cultivation. In the Black Edition, instead of molasses, a fermented sugar cane honey ("virgin sugar cane honey") is used, which gives the rum a natural mildness. For the Gold and Platinum Editions, classic sugar cane molasses is used, resulting in a particularly complex and full-bodied rum. For the maturation, the precious distillate comes in bourbon barrels made of American white oak. There the rum matured between 10 and 25 years, depending on the edition, before it was selected by us for its perfection. Grapefruit-like, fresh taste. Fruity but not too assertive, with a mild and round finish. The finest premium spices and berries form the incomparable taste. The Timut pepper, from the Himalayas, is one of the important ingredients here. Aged in the sun, it is hand-picked and sun-dried. Our small family business, the Isarnhoe Distillery in Altenhof near Eckernförde on the Baltic Sea, has been in existence since 2009. Our focus is on processing regionally grown rye into whiskey as well as other grain specialties. In addition, single-variety apple liqueurs made from home-grown fruit are a speciality, although only available seasonally. Aquavit, gin and rum are also among our products. All our products are consistently developed and produced by ourselves.

EDEVEDKA is more than the story that tastes. Behind it are us, Christian and Mathias, true northerners from the heart of the Ammerland and true gin lovers. The idea behind our EDEVEDKA Gin was born during a convivial evening among our friends, drinking, among other things, Vodka and Veterano. A funny slip of the tongue combined the two spirits and with the word "VEDKA" provided the laugh of the evening and at the same time the first part of the name. Some time later, we developed the name further and prefixed the "VEDKA" with an "EDE" as a homage to our hometown Edewecht - EDEVEDKA. Throughout the winter, we tinkered with different recipes until, in the eighth test glass, this special taste experience sent us on an incredible journey - EDEVEDKA No. 8 was born.
