More information about Dr. Jaglas Artichoke Elixir
For decades, the Jagla family of pharmacists has been using a medieval monastery recipe, time-honored herbology and old pharmacopoeia knowledge to manufacture high-proof herbal bitters (Amaros), spiced liqueurs and sugar-free gin. From selected bitter herbs, fine spices and essential oils, the Jaglas macerate - still by hand - carefully matured spirits.
After gentle maturation, regional artichoke leaves combine with high-quality herbs, roots and flowers such as centaury, gentian, ginger rhizome, lavender flowers, citric root, cardamom fruit, nutmeg, cinchona bark, bitter orange peel, cinnamon bark, citronella, valerian, angelica root, cloves, galangal rhizome juniper berries and saffron. For their high purity and content ( essential oils and bitter substances ) the cold macerated herbs are certified according to German Pharmacopoeia quality. Free of colorants and artificial additives, this leads to an incomparable and intense taste experience: Powerfully balanced with a sweet start and bitter finish.
Degustation: pure (as digestif), on ice (as aperitif) or as base of refreshing drinks e.g. with tonic water or ginger beer.
Dr. Jaglas' loving design, the high-quality packaging and the unique character of Dr. Jaglas have been honored with the German Design Award Special.
