Christmas drinks are as much a part of December and the Advent season as gingerbread and stollen. Christmas drinks such as mulled wine or winter gin and tonic are popular drinks for a cozy winter. You can find the best drinks for Christmas with and without alcohol without a recipe here.
Popular pages on Christmas drinks
Christmas is simply the perfect time to indulge in delicious drinks and spread festive cheer. A popular classic is mulled wine, which embodies all the Christmas flavors with its blend of red wine, cloves, cinnamon sticks, star anise and orange peel. Whisky, whether neat or in cocktails, is also very popular and has a huge selection. The traditional Feuerzangenbowle, a special mulled wine recipe, is a real highlight thanks to the lighting of the rum-soaked sugar loaf.
For those who like something creamier, eggnog is the perfect choice. This can also be homemade with ingredients such as rum, vodka or double grain and is ideal for cold winter evenings. Grog, a mixture of rum or whisky with hot water and sugar, is also quick and easy to make yourself and is warming on winter days.

Christmas time is a time for indulgence, especially when it comes to drinks. It's no coincidence that there are a number of stalls selling drinks at every Christmas market. From the popular grog, mulled wine and eggnog to other spirits that warm us from the inside on cold days.
Less typical for Christmas markets, but all the more popular in winter and especially at Christmas: Whisky. And not just for connoisseurs. Whether neat or as a cocktail, whisky is a real winter highlight. Whisky even tends to become more popular every year. It looks cool and tastes good too.
If you're the type to enjoy warm drinks like tea and coffee anyway, whether homemade or bought, Christmas is the best time. Especially in Germany and other European countries in the north, the selection of typical hot drinks for Christmas is huge: in addition to white and red mulled wine, punch, eggnog or eggnog, mulled gin is the absolute trend drink of recent years. Above all, mulled gin is a change from traditional mulled wine. Winter gin is particularly suitable for those who don't like drinking wine - both with and without alcohol.
For the recipe, you need a classic gin, some sugar, orange juice and zest, apple juice and (if desired) mulled wine spices such as cinnamon, cloves and star anise. First boil the spices with the sugar and juices. Then leave to infuse for a while. Then, just before you want to serve it, add the gin. But be careful not to boil the gin with it, otherwise the alcohol will evaporate. At the end, pour through a sieve and you're done.
Alternatively, you can use a ready-made mulled g in. All you have to do is heat the apple juice and add the mulled gin in a ratio of 1:4 to 1:5.
Of course, there are even more winter favorites for the festive season in addition to the classics. An alternative to the normal gin and tonic is the cranberry gin and tonic. This gives the well-known drink a festive, fruity note.
Hot chocolate is probably also at its best at Christmas. Suddenly, it's no longer just children who are reaching for the hot, chocolatey drink. Incidentally, a somewhat newer, popular variation is to cover the surface with marshmallows instead of cream.
And what would a list of Christmas drinks be without Feuerzangenbowle - the absolute highlight at any Christmas party. It combines warmth, a touch of spectacle (due to the special preparation with often high flames) and, of course, great taste. Many people who don't usually like mulled wine, however, like Feuerzangenbowle.
If you're not in the mood for Christmas drinks after reading this, then it's probably summer (or summer temperatures in winter).
