More information about Gänstaller Burned Malt
Burned Malt is one of the new beers from Gänstaller and was brewed together with the Lithuanian brewers from Sakiškių alus The Franconian-Lithuanian collaboration set out to create a smoked beer: Burned Malt is a smoked malt with a powerful character and an irresistibly smoky profile
The unconventional smoked beer flows into the glass in a rich chestnut brown and shimmers ruby red when the light hits it The enticing-looking beer is adorned with a huge crown of fine-pored, creamy foam The aroma of a late summer campfire rises from the hazelnut-brown splendor and mingles with dark caramel, smoked ham and wild berries to create a surprising and seductive composition The first sip follows the olfactory first impression and caresses the palate with a wonderfully bitter smoky note The dominant smoke is joined by warm and sweet notes of roasted malt, The hops add a hint of freshly mown grass, but cannot outdo the malt Burned Malt is a subtly composed smoked beer with an unusual range of flavors and fine refinement
With this outstanding smoked malt, Daniela and Andreas Gänstaller prove once again that they can breathe new life and a breath of fresh air into tried-and-tested classics with their brewing skills
