This single malt hails from the northeast coast of Ireland, where it was stored until it was transferred to still-wet casks that once housed Amarone. Amarone is a rich and intense red wine produced near Verona in Italy.
The Grace O'Malley 19 Year 2002/2020 Amarone Single Cask is bottled unfiltered and uncolored at 45.0% vol.
Aroma: Starts with lots of fruit of peaches, ripe raspberries and tropical fruits. In addition, the memory of pastry and cream and malt.
Taste: Creamy and full-bodied on the tongue. At first again a lot of fruit of red berries and grapes and the impression of crème brûlée. Then spicier with malt, cocoa and spicy sweet oak.
Finish: long lasting with a mix of fruit, oak and caramel.
Color: Dark yellow to light brown.
