More information about Hanscraft & Co. Backbone Splitter IPA
The "Backbone Splitter" is a proper announcement from Hanscraft & Co.: Four high-intensity aroma hop varieties went into the kettle and give the crisp IPA its hoppy omnipotence. The Aschaffenburg brewery's range has some hop bombs in store, but the Backbone Splitter is absolutely unique! This classic West Coast IPA wows with a truckload of tropical fruit courtesy of the Magnum, Simcoe, Summit and Amarillo hop varieties.
The olfactory tasting confirms what the label already announces: fruit and hops are here in full measure. Hanscraft didn't skimp on the good stuff and gave us a true treat of hoppy excellence.
The Backbone Splitter flows into the glass in a clear amber hue and shimmers in the strong color of ripe oranges. A fine-pored, white foam crowns the magnificent beer and exudes an irresistible aroma of ripe peach, golden mango and other tropical fruits. But it's not just the aroma that charms, the range of flavor aromas is equally convincing: from tart to sweet to hoppy and fruity, everything your heart desires is there. Juicy peach and mango aromas mingle with a fine malt sweetness, a crisp bitterness accompanies the play of aromas. Even a slight licorice note does not seem to disturb the overall composition. In the aftertaste, the bitterness slowly fades, but a gentle sweetness remains on the tongue.
The "Backbone Breaker" is an excellent choice for craft beer advanced drinkers.
