More information about Hogwild IPA
"Hog wild" is an expression used in North Carolina Legend has it that the term originated in a conversation between a hillbilly and a couple of Yankees Hog wild is used synonymously with words like foolish, unruly or boisterous; it's also the title of an excellent India Pale Ale from the Aviator Brewing Company
The brewers really let their hair down when making this beer: Three hop varieties flavor the beer before it's cold-hopped with two more varieties to top it off The hop excess results in a 6.7%-strength beer with a hefty 108 bittering units and a citrusy, crisp and clean flavor profile The hop-infused specialty harkens back to the good old days, presenting us with a traditional India Pale Ale reminiscent of the brews from the early days of the craft beer movement
The warm golden beer flows into the glass in an almost clear copper hue and is adorned with a white head Aroma and taste are characterized by a fruity variety that combines with moderate malt and caramel tones Intense citrus notes set the tone The crisp bitterness runs like a red thread through the beer enjoyment and is present from the first to the last sip Those who like it classic will love Aviators HogWild!
