More information about Isarnhoe Pleserus
We are particularly proud of our Isarnhoe Pleserus rye whisky! The rye whisky from single cask bottling is given a multi-faceted finish. Like all our whiskies, it is produced without the addition of coloring and without chill-filtration - just as it should be!
How is the Isarnhoe Pleserus rye whisky stored?
In contrast to our usual practice, this complex and multi-faceted whisky has undergone a finishing process. Initially, our distillate made from local rye was stored for 6 years in two former Sauternes casks, which had previously been used by the well-known Scottish distillery Glenmorangie.
For the one-year finishing, we chose a cask from our own stock - a 500-liter ex-sherry butt from the warehouse of the Islay distillery Ardbeg. This sherry butt had previously been used to mature our Shark Cutter Lisa Rum for three years.
What does the Isarnhoe Pleserus rye whisky taste like?
The aromas to be discovered in Pleserus are just as exciting as the history of the barrels used. These clearly characterize our whisky without suppressing the classic rye taste. This rye whisky is full-bodied and spicy, with subtle peat aromas and notes of molasses. The Isarnhoe Pleserus rye whisky only reveals itself at the back with fruity components that are accompanied by light smoke and salt aromas.
Fruity, spicy and cereal aromas play on the nose, which are enhanced by subtle smoke and creamy cocoa.
