More information about Nettle Oak Gin

In addition to botanicals such as juniper and citrus fruits, Nettle Oak Gin is particularly characterized by nettle, pink pepper and cardamom.

After distillation, this gin is matured for weeks in toasted French oak, which not only gives the gin its color, but also its very special smoky taste.

In 2024, Nettle Oak Gin was awarded silver at the Concours International de Lyon in France and gold at the Frankfurt International Trophy.

Boiler 29 distillery

Kessel 29 distillery is a manufactory that produces gin in small batch process. From distilling to bottling to the production of labels, everything is done by hand and with the utmost care in our house. Distilling is done exclusively in a pure copper pot still. This is where the name comes from, the 29 stands for copper in the periodic table. With a boiler volume of just 24 liters, the Kessel 29 distillery is probably one of the smallest distilleries in Germany. With a batch of only 29 bottles, we take the term "small batch" particularly seriously. Only fresh ingredients and dried spices are used. We do not use any artificial flavors, colorants, additives or preservatives. The macerates for our gins are made with 10-15 botanicals over several days in high quality multiple distilled alcohol and then redistilled. For the labels we use environmentally friendly grass paper.
