The genuine Leverings Ossenkämper is a velvety and mildly spicy herbal liqueur with 40% alcohol. The basis is pure wheat fine distillate, which is distilled from wheat and malt. For at least three months this wheat grain is stored in old oak barrels.
The special thing about Leverings Ossenkämper is its composition of over 47 different herbs, spices, flowers and roots, which come from all continents of this earth. These include, for example, cloves, anise, licorice, cardamom, coriander, lemon balm, gentian roots and many more. Our master distiller spends a great deal of time gently processing these herbs in very elaborate distillation, maceration and percolation processes. Based on his extremely trained nose, he blends all of these ingredients to create this delicious herbal liqueur. The recipe of Ossenkämper was developed in the 1950s by the descendants of Carl Levering. Carefully preserved, it was handed down only from master distiller to master distiller and is thus the most guarded company secret, known even today only to the closest employees. This guarantees the consistent quality and effect of the genuine Levering Ossenkämper.
