The high-proof herbal schnapps Schmiedegold with its strong bloodroot note is probably the most popular of our herbal liqueurs. The basic ingredient, bloodroot, gives the liqueur its typical red-golden color.
Schmiedegold is ideal as an aperitif and digestif. But it also comes into its own in a cocktail. As a suggestion, here is the recipe for a Schmiedegold Sour from David Gran:
5.5cl Rose Valley Schmiedegold herbal liqueur
2cl blueberry liqueur
2.5cl lime juice (freshly squeezed)
1cl cane sugar syrup
2cl aquafaba (or egg white)
6 drops of orange bitters
First mix all ingredients - except the bitters - vigorously dry (without ice). Then shake with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Carefully add the drops of bitters to the drink and serve.

mild alcohol with powerful herbal aromas and a hint of star anise and cinnamon

Processing:
Herbs are macerated in a gentle cold extract with carefully distilled neutral alcohol. The macerate is given plenty of time
Additives/allergens:
No colorants: the distillate is given its color by adding a mixture of bloodroot and alcohol
Production:
Gentle distillation, with additional fresh herbs during distillation in the aroma basket, adjustment of the drinking strength + adjustment of the aroma and color with added herbs, water and sugar
Bottling quantity:
approx. 1000 bottles per year
