As the name suggests, our Maennerhobby Schlehengeist is made from fine sloe berries. Sloe is a wild type of plum that grows on bushes with many thorns - which makes harvesting a rather unpleasant affair. We harvest the berries after the first frosty nights so that they do not develop tannins. After harvesting, we macerate them for a comparatively long time to obtain a really delicate spirit.
