This rum is pure Caribbean. Distilled in the old tradition from pure sugar cane juice, this rum Agricole aged 7 years in bourbon barrels on the Caribbean island of Marie-Galant. "Mission's Best" rum was selected by Captain Cornelius together with Jérôme Thiery of the award-winning traditional distillery and put into two white wine barrels from Bordeaux to start the journey aboard our cargo sailer across the Atlantic. On the white beach, under the hot Caribbean sun, the AVONTUUR crew built a raft of bamboo and empty oak barrels and transported the barrels to the AVONTUUR, which was anchored off Saint Louis.
7,300 nautical miles across the Atlantic aboard the AVONTUUR shaped this premium rum agricole. Its unique taste therefore made it not only an ambassador for environmental protection at sea, but also the favorite rum of our captain and initiator Cornelius Bockermann.
