This rum is pure Caribbean. Distilled in the old tradition from pure sugar cane juice, this rum Agricole aged 3 years in bourbon barrels on the Caribbean island of Marie-Galant. This rum was selected by Captain Cornelius and filled into three white wine barrels from Bordeaux to start the journey on board Germany's only cargo sailer across the Atlantic. On the white beach, under the hot Caribbean sun, the cargo sailing crew built a raft of bamboo and empty oak barrels and transported the barrels to the AVONTUUR, which was anchored off St. Louis.
7,300 nautical miles across the Atlantic aboard the AVONTUUR shaped this premium rum agricole, making it an ambassador for environmental protection at sea. A limited edition of only 100 bottles were bottled at cask strength.
