The town is a historic vacation spot and is famous for its "river pilots" who navigated their small boats through the dramatic rapids of the Mississippi River in the old days. The steady hand and compass rose of these noble navigators made Le Claire famous.

River Rose reflects a deep respect for local expertise and is distilled with fresh grain from local farmers. The unique blend of botanicals comes from a recipe dating back to the late 19th century. River Rose is a juniper-heavy gin with a full body of citrus fruits such as orange, grapefruit and lemon. Lavender, rose petals and locally grown cucumber provide a distinctive finish.
