The apple has always represented faith, nobility and an open heart. In the Celtic tree horoscope, it stands for "eternal youth". We love the fine elegance and balance of Crown Prince Rudolf and think he is a sensitive conqueror of the heart.
Little yield but the best taste
The Crown Prince Rudolf winter apple made its first major public appearance in front of an international audience in 1873, when it was presented in the collection of Styrian fruit varieties at the Vienna World Exhibition and was a resounding success!
The splendidly colored fruits immediately caught the eye and were met with great enthusiasm.
Only in recent years, when the focus has shifted back to taste and not yield in cultivation, has Crown Prince Rudolf experienced a renaissance of taste in a class of its own due to its extremely high intrinsic values.
In Styria, there are still small quantities of orchards in mid-mountain locations. If Kronprinz Rudolf is allowed to ripen properly, this old apple variety is ideal for further refinement in fruit processing due to its unique fruit acid structure.
A real natural taste experience
The flesh of the Crown Prince Rudolf is yellowish, tender and very fine. Delicate on the nose, with delicate aromas of citrus fruits and white flowers, elegant and lively on the palate, balanced and full-bodied.

1/16 in a white wine glass, drinking temperature: 9 - 11 °C. As a non-alcoholic accompaniment to food, our WELL Kronprinz Rudolf is particularly recommended with pasta, fish, poultry and desserts. It can also be enjoyed on its own as a fruity aperitif or as an innovative, high-quality and natural alternative to other juices.
