For this gin, Pegelturm founder Umut Eskiocak collected and continued to collect until 100 bottles from different producers were collected. Why no new bottles? According to waste management statistics, the consumption of glass packaging in Germany in 2018 was around 2.9 million tons. These bottles were cleaned and given a new life with the Upcycle Gin. Kept minimalistic, with artwork by Anastasia Koßobutzki made from grass paper and plastic-free bottle caps.
The botanicals also speak their own language: among others, mango, calamanis leaves and tonka bean make the Upcycle Gin unique! Obsthof Birkenbeil burns on behalf of Pegelturm Gin exclusively with green electricity, high care and attention to detail. Accordingly, there have already been numerous chamber prize coins of the Chamber of Agriculture of Rhineland-Palatinate, at the 2020 award alone nine times gold.
