Make your own pumpkin spiced latte
Who would have ever thought that the combination of pumpkin and coffee would delight the palates of so many people? Originally developed by Starbucks at the beginning of the 2000s, some of the coffeehouse chain's non-affiliates now also enjoy a Pumpkin Spiced Latte here and there - especially in the fall and winter. And, you have to hand it to the giant company - in terms of taste, they have hit the bull's eye. The combination of fruity, nutty pumpkin, creamy latte and winter spices is not only powerful, but also delicious.
Fortunately, a pumpkin spiced latte is quite easy to make yourself. Find out how here:

Make your own pumpkin spiced latte - find the recipe here!
Pumpkin spiced latte recipe
Ingredients (for 1 portion):
- 1 butternut squash (or other pumpkin)
- 50 ml water
- 125 g sugar
- 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
- 3 tsp cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon cloves, ground
- 1 teaspoon ginger, ground
- 150 ml milk
- Espresso
Buy really good espresso:
Preparation:
- Cook the pumpkin in the oven until soft. Then puree.
- Heat the water, sugar and vanilla sugar in a pan and boil to make a syrup.
- Leave to cool briefly, then add 2 tbsp of the pumpkin puree and mix with cinnamon, cloves and ginger.
- Boil 1 espresso and froth the milk.
- Pour the frothy milk into a glass, stir 1 tsp of pumpkin syrup into the espresso and then slowly pour into the milk.
- Sprinkle with spices and garnish with cream and syrup for a sweetness overkill.
Don't want to prepare extra pumpkin puree for every spiced latte? Then simply freeze the cooled mixture? That way, your next pumpkin spiced latte will be much quicker. If you have leftover pumpkin puree but perhaps no freezer, you can also simply make a non-alcoholic pumpkin punch! Find out how here: Halloween cocktails - 10 recipes with & without alcohol
