More information about Schoppe Bräu Holy Shit Ale
Holy Shit Ale is the big brother of XPA - Kreuzberg Pale Ale and the little nephew of Holy Shit Endboss Ale.
Now that you know the entire family tree of this beer, we naturally don't want to withhold the key data on Holy Shit Ale from you. The fine Double IPA comes from the Schoppe brewery in Berlin and is brewed with the three hop varieties Magnum, Chinook and Cascade. Pilsner, wheat and melanoidin malt are added to the hoppy trinity. The result is a 10.0% top-fermented beer that pops. What pops are the bitter units, which are a hefty 100 IBU. Sounds fabulous!
And it tastes like it. But before you can taste it, the ultimate IPA presents itself in the glass in a luminous amber hue with a wonderful coppery shimmer. A stately crown of thick, slightly tinted foam sits enthroned on the beer and it smells of everything. Strong malt, caramelly roasted aromas, fresh hops and ripe stone fruit meet a hint of citrus and tempt you to take your first sip. This reveals a voluminous body that is packed with aromas. The sweetness of apricots, juicy oranges and limes is combined with a soft caramel malt base. The hops give the IPA notes of freshly cut herbs, blooming summer meadow and tangy citrus fruit. The hops also contribute the clean bitterness that runs like a red thread through the enjoyment of the beer.
An absolute dream IPA!

Schoppe brew
Fancy names have become part of the standard ABC of the modern craft beer brewer. And hey, it's legitimate to have your illustrious range represented by a unique name. Real beer instead of mass-produced goods Behind the simple name lies a true avant-gardist: Thorsten Schoppe caused a sensation in the beer world years ago and virtually helped lift the craft beer movement out of its cradle. At some point, the inspired brewer had had enough of large-scale brewing and turned to his craft roots and the original art of brewing. Kettle instead of computer was the motto that ultimately led to Thorsten starting his own thing.
