Schwechow's best sea buckthorn spirit - The "lemon of the east" seduces with the fine tart sea buckthorn fruit note. Schwechow's sea buckthorn spirit has won several DLG awards and is thus the wonderful example of the special quality of regional products and sustainable cooperation.
Our sea buckthorn comes from the Ludwigslust area and grows on the largest sea buckthorn plantation in Europe - a small, family-run business that exports the flavorful fruit even as far as Japan. Sea buckthorn was once called the "lemon of the East" and likes to colonize sparse pine forests, dry river floodplains and gravel meadows. A must for every spirit connoisseur.
In our spirits, the alcohol does not come from the fermentation of the fruit, but from the use of neutral alcohol. The fruits used for the spirits are not suitable for fermentation due to their low sugar content, but they have a lot of aroma. By placing the fruit in the neutral alcohol, the aromatic substances can pass into the alcohol. This is followed by distillation.

Schwechow fruit distillery
Schwechow Manor is a historic estate built in 1229, which today houses the Schwechow Fruit Distillery. The distillery produces fine fruit brandies, spirits, liqueurs and gin and is located in the heart of the Mecklenburg Elbe Valley Nature Park. The distillery originally dates back to the 18th century. Today, high-quality spirits are produced here under the motto "Preserve tradition, shape the future", including many in limited editions. Our fruit brandies, spirits and liqueurs are made from the best and most aromatic fruit. The estate's lovingly restored former pigeon house houses Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's first fruit capper distillery. Our high-quality Platinum products in mouth-blown glass decanters round off our premium range.
