More information about Lava
A lava flow of hoppy excellence!
One style that is relatively rare despite the craft beer revolution is red ale. It is intensely flavorful and has its very own character that you have to like. We love red ale for its complex, sophisticated taste. Septem's Imperial India Red Ale Lava is no exception and captivates with its hoppy presence and multi-faceted bouquet.
Lava flows into the glass in a burgundy-red copper hue and forms about two finger-widths of beige foam. The aroma alone is a total work of art of diverse notes: Raisins, oak, Cascade hops, ripe stone fruit, brown sugar and sweet jam made from rosehips and figs come together on the nose. The taste is initially dominated by roasted malt. Freshly baked cookies combine with red jam and spicy, earthy rye bread to create a symphony of aromas. A slightly tangy, lively carbonic acid takes the edge off the beer and the mouthfeel is soft and creamy. The alcohol content of 9.0% vol. is perfectly integrated into the flavor profile and gives the beer a nice bourbon note. The dense, heavy body presents a complex taste experience that ends in a bitter, roasted malty finish.
We recommend Lava to all connoisseurs of Barley Wine. This specialty beer is not for beginners and requires a minimum of attention. If you want to challenge your taste buds and be rewarded with a multi-faceted, intense beer, you will really enjoy September's creation!
