More information about Spier Cap Classique R.D 2013
The Spier Cap Classique R.D. Brut sparkles in the glass in a light straw yellow and the extremely fine perlage already indicates that this elegant and complex sparkling wine is something very special. The grapes of the two grape varieties used, Chardonnay (52%) and Pinot Noir (48%), come from selected vineyards just twenty kilometers from the ocean - ideal conditions, as this vintage benefited from moderate daytime and cooler night-time temperatures, which had a positive effect on the quality of the grapes. This is already evident on the nose, which reveals rich notes of almond cookies and fruity compote. On the palate, the Spier Cap Classique R.D. Brut pampers with fruity aromas of red apples and citrus fruits and impresses with its crisp, fresh character as well as its elegance. Traditionally produced using bottle fermentation, this sparkling wine has been aged on the lees for 84 months and is the ideal aperitif for festive occasions. Fresh oysters, light seafood or a delicious cheese platter are also an excellent choice with Spier Cap Classique R.D. Brut.
